About us
Welcome!
Klostergården is an old farm from 1886, situated on the historic island of Tautra in the Trondheimsfjord. The farm was originally run by Trappist monks who settled here in 1908. Today, we run a restaurant, a brewery, and a farm shop, and we offer accommodation in historic surroundings.
We focus on short-traveled ingredients, traditional craftsmanship, and welcoming hospitality. The farm's location on Tautra provides a unique setting with views of the fjord, monastery ruins, and rich bird life in the nature reserve.
Restaurant
In the café, we serve delicious, flavorful food based on short-traveled ingredients and family recipes. We offer lunch and dinner dishes, and plenty of good things with your coffee.
Accommodation
Spend the night in historic surroundings. We have different rooms in the old farm building with views of the monastery ruins and the fjord.
Brewery
We brew 20+ different types of beer in our own brewery. From light lager to strong Belgian-inspired ales. Many of our beers use malt smoked over alder wood, according to a thousand-year-old Trøndelag tradition.
Farm Shop
In our farm shop you will find our own craft beers, home-made jams, marmalades, juices, and other local specialties. Everything is produced on the farm with ingredients from our own garden and local producers.
